Francesca Teal

is a writer from West Yorkshire, UK. Her work has been published or is forthcoming in magazines and anthologies from the UK, the United States, Canada, and Ukraine.

Francesca’s writing spans a distressed seamstress in The Ekphrastic Review, a park’s healing power in Oxford Magazine, Ukrainian summer solstice in The Ash, the world of work as a post-grad in Bitter Melon Review,  a footballing Yorkshire lad’s dreams in The Vanity Papers, and the revisiting of a past relationship in reverse in Ghost Light Lit.

Her poem ‘Red Skies’ won the Sunflower Stories Competition in June 2025, which responded to an exhibition at the Taylor Institution Library of artworks created by war-displaced Ukrainian children.
